"Build Your Very
Own" Eucalyptus Wreath
Materials Needed: Wreath Wrap, Floral Pins, Heavy Wire, Wire
Cutters, Steel Picks, Straw Wreath, Preserved Eucalyptus.
To make a 20" Wreath, use a 10" Straw Wreath base and 3
8 oz. bunches of Eucalyptus.
To make a 25" Wreath, use a 12" Straw Wreath Base and 5
8 oz bunches of Eucalyptus.
To make a 30" Wreath, use a 16" Straw Wreath Base and 7
8 oz. bunches of Eucalyptus.
Complete wrap the straw wreath with green wreath wrap, and secure it
with floral pins. Loop heavy wire around wreath to form a hook for
hanging. Cut your eucalyptus into pieces (approximately 4" for a
20" wreath, 6" for a 25" wreath, 8" for a 30"
wreath). Place a steel pick on each piece (wood picks work, but are harder
to use and take longer...ask us about the Handy Pick Machine). With the
wreath lying flat, push single pieces of eucalyptus into the wreath
(parallel to the table), approximately one inch apart, forming one complete
row all the way around. This first row of eucalyptus should be
sticking straight out of the wreath like rays of sunlight.

|
Now it's time to build a second row. On top of your base row, add
pieces of eucalyptus at a slight angle (up from the table, and also angled
to the left). Only the first row should stick straight out. The
second row and all subsequent rows should be on a leftward slant.
These eucalyptus picks should also be about one inch
apart.

|
You want to begin your third row staggering eucalyptus picks between the
picks of your second row. You do not want them to line up directly,
because that can create gaps. For example, this is good:
2nd
Row  E  E  E  E
3rd
Row  E  E  E  E
4th
Row  E  E  E  E
5th
Row  E  E  E  E
They should not just line up:
 E  E  E  E  E  E
 E  E  E  E  E  E
 E  E  E  E  E  E
 E  E  E  E  E  E
Your picks should still be placed at a leftward slant. Continue
adding rows in this manner, all the way around. All rows should be
angled in this same direction.

|
To finish up, add any extra pieces to fill in any gaps that may have
popped up in there. Remember to add your filler in the same slanted
angle as your individual rows are directed. Voila! You have a
beautiful eucalyptus wreath! You can try new sizes, new finishes
(washed, frosted, or glazed), new colors, even mix colors! Have fun
with your eucalyptus!
