Rose Topiary

Items you will need:

1 Topiary Form

1 Container

1 Bag of Sheet Moss

1 Glue Gun with Glue Sticks

1 Wire Cutter

1 Package of Floral "U" Pins

2 Bunches of Flowers

1 Stem of Smaller Flowers

1 Sprig of Ivy

1 or 2 Styles of Ribbon (1 yd)

12 inch 20 gauge wire for bow

Glue Topiary Form into Container. Cover Bottom and Top Ball with Sheet Moss.  Secure it with Floral "U" Pins. Cut Flowers Bushes, Smaller Flowers, and Ivy into approximately 2 inch pieces.

Use Floral Pins to secure all of your Flowers and Ivy to the top and bottom of the topiary.

In this example, there are two Burgundy Rose Bushes, a Sprig of Frosted Sage Green Ivy, and a stem of White Sugar Bud Vine as the smaller flower. You can choose different styles and colors of flowers and ivy to match your taste and decor.

As a Final Finishing Touch, you may add a few bows to the ball and base of your topiary as an accent.  This example used two different colors of ribbon, using a thin style for the two bows on the ball and wider ribbon for the two different bows on the base.  One or two yard bows work best for a piece this size (the length you choose depends on the amount of loops and the length of streamers you would like). If you would like a review of the bow-making process, you can review the web demo on bow-making, or check our free Thursday night demo schedule for each store.  Free Bow-Making Classes are typically held in each store at least once each month.
